Linky Tools | NEWS

Well I wanted to share with you all today that I am very fortunate to have these tools. I don't believe my blog would be where it was if it wasn't for them. 

I host 5 different Linky Parties - All Thumbnails. I love them. Shutter Love Tuesdays and Creative Share Wednesdays are the fun and popular weekly parties that I look forward to every week. And I also host two continuous linky parties, Marketing Mondays and New Friend Fridays with  The Girl Creative. Both great places to link up your blog or business to gain traffic, business and yes friends! Lastly, I host a continuous party for your linky parties. There is one for each day of the week. All of these parties are provided FREE to you and have been one of the best tools I and you as bloggers can use to gain traffic and really some excitement to our blogs. 

For the longest time, these tools have been FREE for us to use. I am writing this post today to share with you that Linky Tools will NO LONGER be FREE. But am I worried? NO! Brent has worked hard to keep these tools up for us to use and I think he deserves pay back. With over 16,000 users, it is getting costly to keep it going and all Brent is asking is for $2 a month to help keep Linky Tools going.

| Valentines Day Trip |

Our Family is spending Our Valentine Holiday in Disneyland this year. We are so excited. So in order to get ready for the long drive and fun activities, I put together a few things.

I found a Valentine Match game at Target. It was only $5. NICE. Thought it would be fun to play in the hotel room when we need a break from the day. I got Valentine cards for each family member and put together a treat bag too. All surprises for them when we wake up Valentines Day! ;-) Each bag includes.... candies, stickers, crayons, new Valentine hair clips and heart necklaces for the girls, Lego pack for my son (didn't think he would want a hair clip, haha), cookies, pencils, drawing tablet and a few other goodies. Oh and I found some Smurfs coloring books for a $1 at Michaels. The kids love the Smurfs.

I also have an activity packet ready to go for the ride. All Valentine related. I am sharing the pages below in case you would like to print them out for yourself.

The Power Of Half | Book Review

No way!” Then it was a challenge. “We are TOTALLY doing this.” Each week they met over dinner to discuss their plan. It would transport them across the globe and well out of their comfort zone. Along the way they would inspire so many others wrestling with the same questions: Do I give enough? How much is enough? How can I make an impact in the world? In the end the Salwens’ journey would bring them closer as a family, as they discovered, together, that half could be so much more.

I received “The Power of Half” book for review. It is an inspirational book sharing with people the power of sharing. This book tells the story of the Salwen family and their plan to make a difference in the world. I was also glad to read that it brought the family closer together. They spent more time together discussing great topics and plans for their “half” project. This is a great book because it opens your eyes to what one idea can turn into. How one person can make a difference and also how you can include your children in great family giving. Giving to those in need, sharing your time to help and so on. This is a great book to read if you are looking to make a difference too!

Kevin Salwen, coauthor of The Power of Half: One Family’s Decision to Stop Taking and Start Giving Back, was reporter and editor at The Wall Street Journal for over 18 years. After his tenure at The Wall Street Journal, he started a magazine, Motto. He serves on the board for Habitat for Humanity in Atlanta, and works with the U.S. Olympic Committee.
Hannah Salwen, coauthor of The Power of Half: One Family’s Decision to Stop Taking and Start Giving Back, will be a junior at the Atlanta Girls’ School, where she plays for the varsity volleyball team, and is her grade’s representative to the student council. She has been volunteering consistently since the 5th grade at the Atlanta Community Food Bank and Cafe 458, among others.
